Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Reel Rush Fishing iPhone app and this website.

Last updated: August 13, 2026 · Effective: August 13, 2026

The short version. Reel Rush Fishing does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Your game save lives on your phone and nowhere else. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

1. Who is responsible

Reel Rush Fishing is developed and published by Johnny Pack, an independent developer based in Tennessee, United States ("I", "me", "the developer"). I am the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR and equivalent laws, to the very limited extent this policy involves any personal data at all.

Questions about anything on this page go to johnnycpack@gmail.com.

2. Information the app collects

None. The app does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal information or usage data. Specifically, Reel Rush Fishing has:

  • No user accounts, sign-in or profile of any kind
  • No analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting SDK or usage tracking
  • No advertising, ad networks or advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • No third-party SDKs, trackers or embedded browsers
  • No access to your location, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar or health data
  • No servers of its own — there is no back end to send anything to

The app's App Store privacy answer is "Data Not Collected." Its bundled Apple privacy manifest declares no tracking, no tracking domains and no collected data types. It declares exactly one required-reason API — the standard iOS preference store (NSPrivacyAccessedAPICategoryUserDefaults, reason CA92.1) — used solely to save your game on your own device, where only this app can read it.

3. Information stored on your device

Your game state is written to your iPhone's own app storage. That includes:

  • In-game money, upgrades, owned boats, tackle and bait
  • Which waters you have unlocked and your best depth
  • Catch records, personal bests, trophy room contents and Fish-o-pedia progress
  • Daily mission and daily reward state
  • Your settings, including sound, haptics and the boat name you type

None of this leaves your device. I never see it. It is included in an iPhone backup if you make one, because iOS backs up app data along with everything else — that copy is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by me. Deleting the app deletes this data permanently, and Settings → Reset all progress inside the game erases it on demand.

4. Notifications

After you have caught a few fish, the app asks once whether it may send notifications. If you allow it, the app schedules a single repeating local reminder at 9:00 am telling you your daily reward is waiting. This is a local notification: it is created and delivered by your own device. There is no push server, no device token is registered, and nothing about you is transmitted anywhere.

Declining costs you nothing in the game, and you can change your answer at any time in Settings → Notifications → Reel Rush on your iPhone.

5. In-app purchases

Optional in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store using Apple's StoreKit. Your payment method, billing details, Apple Account and purchase history are handled by Apple and are never sent to me or seen by the app.

What the app receives back from Apple is a signed transaction record saying "this product was bought." The app uses it to credit the item, records the transaction identifier locally so a consumable is never credited twice, and finishes the transaction. That identifier stays on your device. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Game Center

Leaderboards are optional and powered by Apple's Game Center. If — and only if — you choose to sign in, the app submits three scores to Apple after you bank a catch: your biggest fish, your total catches and your lifetime in-game earnings. Apple associates those scores with your Game Center player, and Apple's leaderboard interface shows your Game Center nickname to other players on the same board.

  • This is data you send to Apple, not to me. I have no server that receives it and no way to view individual players' data.
  • The app reads an Apple-provided identifier for the signed-in player only to check whether that player is the developer (an internal build unlock). It is never stored, transmitted or used for anything else.
  • If you never sign in to Game Center, nothing is submitted and nothing is shown. The game does not wait on it and plays identically.
  • You can sign out at any time in Settings → Game Center on your iPhone.

Game Center is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the Game Center terms shown when you sign in.

7. This website

This site is a set of static pages hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers, loads no fonts or scripts from other companies, and has no advertising. Nothing on it profiles you.

Like every web host, GitHub logs basic technical request data (such as IP address, browser user-agent and the page requested) for security and abuse prevention. I do not have access to per-visitor logs. See GitHub's Privacy Statement and its Terms of Service.

If a form back end is ever enabled for the contact form on the support page, the only data sent to it is what you typed into the form. Until then, the form simply opens a pre-filled message in your own email app — nothing is transmitted by the website itself.

8. If you contact support

When you email me or use the contact form, I receive what you chose to send: your name, your email address, the topic you picked, any device details you added and your message. That is the only situation in which I hold any personal data about you at all.

  • Why: to answer you and to fix the problem you reported. That is my legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and it is also simply what you asked me to do.
  • Where: in an ordinary email inbox.
  • Sharing: never. Your message is not sold, rented, published, added to any mailing list, or shared with anyone.
  • How long: only as long as it is useful for support history. Ask and I will delete the correspondence.

Please never send passwords, payment card details or Apple Account credentials — support never needs them.

9. Children's privacy

Reel Rush Fishing is rated 4+ and is safe for children: there is no chat, no messaging, no user-generated content, no external links out of gameplay and no way for anyone to contact a child through the game.

Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and has no mechanism by which it could. This is consistent with COPPA and the GDPR's rules on children's data.

Parents should be aware that the game does offer optional in-app purchases. These can be switched off entirely on the child's device under Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → iTunes & App Store Purchases, or gated behind Ask to Buy with Family Sharing.

10. Your privacy rights

Laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and similar state laws give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — including the right to know, to access, to correct, to delete, to data portability, and to opt out of sale or sharing.

I hold no personal data about app users, so there is nothing to disclose, correct, port or delete. Concretely:

  • I have never sold or shared personal information, and never will. There is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism because there is nothing to opt out of.
  • No profiling, automated decision-making or targeted advertising takes place.
  • The only personal data I can ever hold is a support message you chose to send me, and you may ask for it to be deleted at any time by emailing johnnycpack@gmail.com. I will act on it promptly and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
  • For data Apple holds — your Apple Account, purchase history and Game Center profile — please use privacy.apple.com, since that data is Apple's to give you, not mine.

If you are in the EEA or UK and believe your rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. I would appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

11. Security and retention

The strongest security measure here is structural: data that is never collected cannot be breached, leaked or subpoenaed. There is no server, no database and no account system to compromise. Game data sits inside the app's own sandbox on your device, protected by iOS and your device passcode.

Support email is retained only while it is useful and deleted on request. No other personal data is retained, because none is received.

12. Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version ships, the date at the top will change, and the change will be described in the App Store release notes for that version. Material changes will be summarised plainly at the top of this page rather than buried.

Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
